postcards

My illustration professor from UDel, Dave Brinley, gave everyone in his senior class a hand full of blank, pre-stamped and addressed postcards when we graduated. The first one I sent to him after I got back from a road trip. I swear I saw a sea lion swimming in the ocean in Florida.

The second was inspired by a trip I took this month to Washington state. (sketch in the last post).

Farmer McCutcheon

Olympic National Park. Exploring patterns, geometric shapes. While I was in Seattle I saw some beautiful aboriginal Australian and American Indian work at the art museum. I was inspired by their consistant visual language translating nature.

impressions

the second to last page of my sketchbook has been ripped out. someone must have borrowed a sheet. funny thing is, i can see the impression of what they wrote on the last page:

i am so in love with you ....(too faint to make out)...you....but....too shy..............love, your secret admirer
